IDC remains optimistic in its forecast of the Chinese IT market, despite the announced policies designed to rein in its overheated economy. During IDC's annual Directions conference in April this year, IDC predicted that China's IT market would continue its robust growth in 2004 and well into 2008 at a compound annual growth rate of 15%, doubling from US$25 billion to US$50.8 billion in 2008. Some of Asian markets have a very low PE and some of them have a high P/E ratio at this moment, but the future projections justify purchasing shares even at this P/E ratio.

Print This Page June 21, 2004 (AXcess News) Asian market investors remained pessimistic this week, in anticipation of possible interest rate rises in both the United States and China. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index market started the week on a bad note, plunging 2.5 percent, as investors sold on fears the United States might raise interest rates sharply later this month. Hong Kong's currency is pegged to the U.S. dollar, so the city's interest rates are likely to follow U.S. rates higher.
